About Keswick

Celebrating 75 years as a Christian preparatory school in the heart of St. Petersburg.

our mission

Keswick Christian School equips students to discover and develop their gifts for God’s glory.

My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

Colossians 2:2-3

Welcome from the Head of School

A school where rigor and reverence meet.

For 75 years, Keswick has been a place where families come for academic excellence and stay for community. Our mission has always been the same: to graduate students who are academically prepared for the most challenging universities, spiritually rooted in Christ, and ready to lead lives of purpose in the world.

As we look toward our next 75 years, we hold the same conviction we did in 1953: every Keswick student is known by name, challenged to grow, and sent out fully prepared.

— Mr. Stratis, Superintendent

Why we enroll families

Three communities shape a child.

Since 1953, Keswick has been built on a simple, foundational belief: that children develop best when the church, the home, and the school work together. Each has a vital role. The school lays the foundation, teaching the truth of God's Word and intentionally weaving faith into academics, athletics, and the fine arts, shaping students who passionately pursue Christ and seek to glorify Him in all they do. The church provides the community of believers, coming alongside students and families to encourage, disciple, worship, and live out the faith together. And the home is the root and support, where faith is nurtured, reinforced, and lived every day.

At the heart of what makes Keswick distinct is the commitment to partnership. That is why Keswick enrolls families, not simply students, and why a Keswick education asks more of parents than a tuition payment. Keswick parents are an integral part of their child's education, faith, and growth.

A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
Ecclesiastes 4:12

Come see Keswick for yourself.

Our History

75 years of God’s faithfulness.

1953
Grace Livingston Hill Memorial
The school opens on a 30-acre site with 75 students. Founder Ruth Munce names the school for her mother, the Christian authoress Grace Livingston Hill, gripped by the desire to see children grow under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
1962
Keswick Christian School
The school adopts its current name as it merges with the Southern Keswick Bible Conference and Keswick Radio, WKES.
1966
160 Students
Enrollment more than doubles in just over a decade. Four years later, in 1970, the student body climbs to 480.
1973
Bursting at the Seams
With demand outpacing capacity, the Board of Directors votes to expand grade-level offerings to include senior high school.
1977
A Ministry of Moody
Keswick is blessed to become the Christian day school ministry of Chicago’s Moody Bible Institute — a partnership that will shape the school for nearly two decades.
1978
First Senior Class
For the first time since the classes of Grace Livingston Hill Memorial School, Keswick Christian School graduates its first senior class in the spring of 1978.
1996
Return to Local Governance
Moody Bible Institute returns ownership of the school to local control. An independent, self-perpetuating board of men and women begins governance.
Today
A 75-Year Legacy
Keswick continues to add honors and Advanced Placement courses, strengthen relationships with local churches, sustain a thriving Parent-Teacher Fellowship, and provide ample service opportunities — teaching its students to enjoy God in every area of their lives.
